Training our youth of today to be warriors of PEACE for a joyful tomorrow.

Yoga Should be Taught to all Children and Here’s Why:

  • The mental and emotional health of children has been deteriorating since before COVID and has since, plummeted even more.

  • We believe Maslow > Bloom; Children CAN’T learn if their nervous systems are activated from stress, anxiety, and/or trauma.

  • Gandhi says: “If we are to reach real peace in this world ...we shall have to begin with children.

Sometimes we need to be our own hero, we need to depend on ourselves, and sometimes we need to find home within, so we can be at home no matter where we are. If we teach children how to access their inner hero, they will better be prepared to navigate the ups and downs of our crazy world.

Did You Know?

  • Yoga IS NOT a religion. It is a philosophy of life; it maps out what the purpose life is and how to navigate the unavoidable challenges of living life. The teachings of yoga are a blueprint for a joyful and compassionate life.

  • The physical poses of yoga (asanas)are only ONE out of EIGHT limbs of yoga philosophy? According to Patanjali, there are eight main categories, branches, of yoga.

  • To truly embody the power of yoga, we must practice on AND off the mat, in AND out of class.

We want to acknowledge that the Lhaq'temish (Lummi) Nation and the Nuxwsa'7aq (Nooksack) tribes are located in Whatcom County where Liberation Youth Yoga was conceived. We recognize that the Coast Salish peoples have nurtures these lands since time immemorial and we are here because of the sacrifice forced upon them. We honor their legacy, lives, descendants, and culture.
